I talked to this guy for almost an hour yesterday. His name is Nick and he works up on the mountain as a loss prevention agent. If someone tries skiing without a pass, he busts them. “Back in real life” he’s a retired marine who owns a ranch outside of Portland. His ranch is full of animals; cows, chickens, horses, and llamas. He has 4 ranch hands who live and work there full time. He seems to have a really busy life; the ranch, the mountain, and some recent engineering classes which I fail to recall the details of.
I shared what seemed like a rare moment in his busy life where he could simply relax. He had just gotten off work. His girlfriend and his son were out skiing. They called every 20 minutes trying to get him to join. He would tell them he was tired and that he was “having a great time hanging out with Chris”. Before I left I asked to take his picture.
