Blades of Glory, more like Blades of Not Funny

blades-of-glory.jpg

Welp, Blades of Glory disappointed me just like the last 4 or 5 movies Will Ferrell has made. I’m starting to wonder if I have grown tired of him or if he is just making movies that suck on purpose.

Please don’t get me wrong, I love the man but come on… Talladega Nights and Blades of Glory were so NOT funny that I hope I never have to see them again. Throughout both of those films I was left with a blank stare eager for a laugh. Luckily Blades of Glory brought a few laughs to my being, but other than that it was boring.

It seems like it is one of those movies that they just threw together and didn’t put much effort into it. It’s like they were just excited to have Will Ferrell on the cast and didn’t take time to make the movie good at all. On top of that Jon Heder is so annoying. I can’t stand him in ANYTHING. The only people who laugh at him are stupid girls who laugh just because he is cute and innocent. It’s dumb and I hope he stops making movies soon.

I guess if you are looking for a movie that wastes your time and expectations and delivers like 3 or 4 good laughs then go see this piece of shmit…

Taylor says,

Dude I totally agree with you, I hardly laughed at all. One of the dumbest movies I have seen in a while. Jon Heder acts too much like Napoleon Dynamite..

I was planning to see that movie!! but oh, I guess I’ll wait for the dvd. Haha!

I haven’t seen Napoleon Dynamite so I don’t have a clue what to expect from Jon Heder.

Sacha Baron Cohen redeemed Talladega Nights. Jon Heder just killed Nacho Libre for me. Nobody sabotages himself as badly as Eddie Murphy heh.

I’ll still watch it, because I am easily amused.

jon heder wasnt in nacho libre…???

um, well, blades of glory was disappointing to say the least, but so are all movies that take a SNL sketch idea into a full length film. There is just not enough comic stamina. period.

but dont hate on jon heder; he will carve his name in the industry and one day you shall appriciate his talent. let it develop before you judge him too harshly.

Chris Kalani says,

That’s exactly what I was going to say… it would be funny as a 3 minute sketch, NOT a whole movie.

smashpOp says,

havent watched it yet. but since i think Stranger Than Fiction was good… so this one should be ok for me too

On April 04, 2007

Albert Ng says,

Whoops, confused him with the director Jared Hess who did Nacho Libre too.

courtknee says,

yeah stranger than fiction was awesome and that was a movie concept that actually couldnt be accomplished in an snl sketch. but it wasnt really a whole hearted comedy so i guess thats what made it work. plus it had some excellent actors in it.
